Madison, NJ. (September 25) - The FDU-Florham Field Hockey Team comes up short against Marywood after the Pacers were able to score three times in one quarter.

The Marywood Pacers controlled most of the offensive opportunities in the first quarter, out shooting the Devils 4-1, but could not find the back of the cage as the Fairleigh Dickinson defense and senior goalkeeper, Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ) held strong. 
 

Within the first minute of the second quarter, first-year midfielder Sophia Candeloro (Sparta, NJ) ran the ball up from midfield to the top of the circle, weaving through Pacer defense and landed a shot at the top of the cage, bringing the score to 1-0 at the half.  
 

In the third quarter, the Pacers continued to lead offensively and evened the score to 1-1 at the 33:19 minute mark. The even score remained until the 39:55 timestamp as Marywood was awarded their 8th penalty corner of the match and successfully landed a shot in goal. With 2 minutes left in the third, another goal for Marywood got on the board, and the Pacers were now leading 3-1 at the end of the quarter.  
 

During the final quarter, Marywood defense blocked any remaining offensive chances the Devils had. FDU fought hard to come back and take the lead, but ultimately fell to the Pacers 3-1.  

In goal for the match's full duration was Schlessinger, who saved 11 out of the 14 shots taken on goal.  

The FDU-Florham Devils will next travel to Neuman on Saturday, September 28th for a 1:00pm matchup.
