The game was scoreless until Devils First-Year Sophia Candeloro (Sparta, NJ) was awarded a penalty corner and Abigal Antipas (Catasauqua, PA) landed a shot to the back of the cage as she was assisted by forward Dominque Rodriguez (Pittsgrove, NJ) at the 26:13 minute mark of the second quarter.Â
With two minutes left of the second quarter, Manhattanville evened the score bringing it to 1-1 at the half. Â
During the last minutes of the third quarter, CandeloroÂ
landed another successful penalty corner and passed it to
Rodriguez. Rodriguez then tipped the ball to
Julianna Medina (Linwood, NJ), whose goal gave the Devils the 2-1 lead and the non-conference win over the Valiants. Â
The Valiants were no match for the Devils as they led the game in Shots 17-8 (6-4 on goal) and in penalty corners 14-5. Â
The FDU Devils will next hit the field at home against Marywood on Wednesday, September 25th for a 7:00pm matchup.Â
