Madison, N.J. (April 9)- The FDU-Florham men's tennis team (0-7, 0-2 MAC Free) fell short in their MAC Freedom matchup at home against DeSales (7-3, 2-0 MAC Free), 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon.
 
DeSales got a 2-1 advantage after the doubles portion of the match. A forfeit led to a point for the Bulldogs for Doubles #3.  Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, N.J.) with Matthew Emery (Howell, N.J.) were bested in Doubles #1 to Phillip Ritche and Jatin Prabhakar, 8-4. The Devils were able to avoid the sweep however as Kelvin Liwag (Marlboro, N.J.) and Brandon Schwartz (Gladwayne, Pa.) got an 8-5 win in Doubles #2 against Augie Citrone and Reece Stein.
 
Despite getting a few match wins during singles, DeSales fended off Fairleigh Dickinson and secured the 6-3 win. DeSales got a singles forfeit again, this one in Singles #6 to start off the round. Jaden Andresen (Branford, Conn.) picked up a victory today in tight match against Brent Holzman in Singles #5. Andresen took the first set, 7-5, was swept 6-0 in set two but was able to bounce back and take set three and the match, 6-1. Duval then fell in Singles #2 to Citrone, 6-2, 6-3 and was followed by the match clinching win for DeSales in Singles #1 where Emery fell to Ritchie, 6-3, 6-3. Liwag was bested in Singles #3 to Prabhakar, 6-1, 6-2, but Schwartz was able to close out the day with a win in Singles #4 against Zachary Marshall, 6-3, 6-2.
 
FDU-Florham is now set for non-conference action on Thursday, April 11 as the Devils host Brooklyn College for a 3:30pm start.
