Glenside, Pa. (April 27) – The FDU-Florham women's tennis team was blanked by Arcadia, 9-0 in their finale MAC Freedom match of the season.
The Knights jumped out to a 3-0 after doubles In Doubles #1, Cronkhite and Gaetani were defeated by Savannah Falk and Kate Wyszkowski, 8-1.
Paula Vanegas (Union City, N.J.) and
Rachel Kappelmier (Freehold, N.J.) were bested by Leah Hatcher and Bella Bauman, 8-2 in Doubles #2. In Doubles #3,
Giavana Caraccioli (Bound Brook, N.J.) and
Melanie Perez (Union City, N.J.) were bested by Keely Ochs and Bridgit Terry, 8-1.
Arcadia completed the sweep by taking all six singles matches. In Singles #1, Kappelmier was downed by Falk, 6-2, 6-0. Cronkhite was defeated in Singles #2 to Wyszkowski, 6-0 and 7-6 with a tiebreaker set going 7-2. Gaetani was edged in Singles #3 to Gaetani, 7-5, 7-5. Vanegas was blanked in Singles #4 to Bauman, 6-0, 6-0. Caraccioli fell in Singles #5 to Ochs, 6-2, 6-1 and Perez was bested 6-0, 6-0 in Singles #6 by Link Bertrand.
FDU-Florham heads into their final week of competition where they will hit the road first with a matchup against Ramapo scheduled for Monday, April 29 at 4:00 pm.
