Men's Lacrosse Sees a 22-7 Loss to Lebanon Valley

Annville, PA (April 24)- The FDU-Florham Men's lacrosse team traveled to Lebanon Valley for their final MAC Freedom road contest of the season and were sent back to Madison with a 22-7 loss to the Flying Dutchman.

FDU-Florham (1-14, 0-6 MAC Freedom) scoring progressed as the game continued but Nicholas Perillo (Jackson, NJ) netted a goal in each quarter the Devils scored (3 goals) as well as collected three ground balls and took seven shots.

Lebanon Valley (7-9, 3-3 MAC Freedom) saw multiple players score but Colin Hughes led the Flying Dutchman with four goals and two assists while collecting five ground balls.   
 
Lebanon Valley totaled ten goals in the first quarter with their first goal being scored two minutes into play. FDU-Florham was not able to score in the first 15 minutes but was getting offensive looks as they took aim at the Lebanon Valley goal five times.
 
The Flying Dutchman owned the first goal of the second period at with 9:46 remaining and FDU-Florham claimed the second goal of the quarter with almost six minutes remaining. N. Perillo found an opportunity off the successful clear attempt and was able to net the Devils' first goal of the game.
 
Lebanon Valley was able add another two goals before the first half came to a close, 13-1.
 
The start of the third quarter followed similar to the start of the second as Lebanon Valley owned the first goal while Justin Perillo (Jackson, NJ) added the Devils' second goal of the game with 10 minutes remaining the the quarter.
 
At the 4:09 minute mark, first-year Anthony DiGiacomo (Paramus, NJ) weaved around the defense to net the Devils' third goal. Lebanon Valley completed the third quarter with a final-minute goal for a 16-3 score.
 
The Devils' offensive came to life in the fourth quarter of MAC Freedom action as Jarrett Dugenio (Bridgewater, NJ) scored the first goal of the quarter for the Devils with nine minutes to play and N. Perillo capped the game in the final seven seconds for FDU's seventh goal. Lebanon Valley claimed the win with a 22-7 overall score.
 
Seen between the orange post for the entirety of the game for the Devils was sophomore Ben Weintraub (Clark, NJ) as he recorded 12 saves on 52 shots. Kellen Markley started and claimed the win for the Flying Dutchman as he recorded six saves.
 
As a team, FDU-Florham compiled 38 shots, 35 ground balls and won 21 face offs. The Devils also finished 13-for-17 on clear attempts and 0-for-2 on extra-man opportunities.
 
Lebanon Valley as a team, generated 52 shots, 35 ground balls, and won 11 face offs. The team was also 22-for-24 on clear attempts and 0-for-2 on extra-man opportunities.
 
FDU-Florham will conclude the 2024 season on Saturday, April 27 as they are set to host Misericordia for a 1pm MAC Freedom action. The Devils will also be honoring their seniors players before the game.
