Madison, N.J. (April 19)- The FDU-Florham men's tennis team (2-8) routed Lehman (0-7) in non-conference action on Friday afternoon. During the match, junior
Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, N.J.) picked up his 50
th career win as a Devil.
The Devils took a 3-0 lead after the doubles portion of the match. The Doubles #1 duo of Duval and
Matthew Emery (Howell, N.J.) blanked Jimmy Evans and Juan Rodriguez, 8-0 and was followed by
Kelvin Liwag (Marlboro, N.J.) and
Brandon Schwartz (Gladwayne, Pa.) doing the same thing to Chris Rameriz and Jayden Youngs.
Jaden Andresen (Branford, Conn.) and
Arman Ali won by default with no competition to face.
Fairleigh Dickinson finished off the clean sweep with all singles victorious to take their first clean sweep victory of the season. Singles #1-#3 were all 8-0 wins for FDU with Emery beating Evans, Duval earning his 50
th career win with a victory against Rameriz and Liwag besting Youngs. Schwartz took an 8-1 win in Singles #4 against Rodriquez while Ali secured his first career win against Taishawn Brownlee in Singles #5, 8-6. With no one to face in Singles #6, Andresen won by default.
FDU-Florham will honor their seniors Saturday, April 20 before their MAC Freedom matchup against King's that starts at 1:00pm.
