Madison, NJ (April 10)- The FDU-Florham Men's Lacrosse team (1-10, 0-2 MAC Freedom) hosted DeSales University for a Wednesday Evening MAC Freedom contest and were handed a 11-5 loss by the Bulldogs.
FDU-Florham (1-10, 0-2 MAC Freedom) had five different players score each goal.
Jarrett Dugenio (Bridgewater, NJ) was at the top in the stats as he accounted for one goal, and one assist, for a total of two points while taking three shots.
DeSales (6-5, 2-0 MAC Freedom) had Nate Perry on the attack with four goals and one assist for a total of five points, on 15 total shots.
The first four minutes of play held strong on the defensive ends as no goals were scored by either team until DeSales broke the silence at the 11:05 minute mark with its first goal of the game.
Junior
Ronnie Trisuzzi (Rockaway, NJ) gave FDU-Florham its first goal of the game with 6:47 remaining in the quarter. DeSales was then able to add three goals within 2 minutes to have the scoreboard reading 4-1.
Anthony DiGiacomo (Paramus, NJ) was able to sneak in the Devil's second goal before the Bulldogs added their fifth goal at the end of the first quarter.
With a scoreless first seven minutes of the second quarter,
Dugenio broke the silence with FDU's third goal, closing the scoring differential within two goals. Before the quarter ended, DeSales was able to bring the score back up to a three-goal game after its sixth goal was scored at the 7:17 minute mark, 6-3.
Once again defense prevailed for both teams in the first seven minutes of the third quarter. FDU-Florham's
Bud Snyder (Arlington Heights, Ill.) received the pass from
Dugenio and was able to fling the ball in at 8:25 minute mark, 6-4. The Bulldogs broke away for the remainder of the third quarter and added three more goals before heading into the final fifteen minutes of play.
With a little under eleven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter,
Justin Perillo (Jackson, NJ) netted the Devils' final goal of the game. DeSales was able to pull ahead even more by tacking on two more goals for the score to read 11-5 at the end of 60 minutes of play.
In the goal for the entirety of the game was
Kenny Ferris (Fairfield, NJ) as he was forced to make 14 saves in today's contest, while TJ Lowe of DeSales only recorded five saves for the win.
As a team, FDU-Florham compiled 21 shots, 31 ground balls and won 5 face offs. The Devils also finished 20-for-23 on clear attempts and 0-for-6 on extra-man opportunities.
DeSales as a team, generated 44 shots, 34 ground balls, and won 14 face offs. The team was also 12-for-16 on clear attempts and 0-for-4 on extra-man opportunities.
FDU-Florham will travel to Stevens on Saturday, April 17 for its next contest. The MAC Freedom matchup will start at 11:00am.
