Madison, N.J. (March 4)- The FDU-Florham Athletic Department and Athletic Director Kristin Giotta have announced the hiring of Gina Ferdinandi as the new Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Devils Athletics' teams. She replaces former Head Strength and Conditioning coach Garrett Timko who announced his resignation a month ago. Gina will assume the position effective immediately.
 
"Gina is a home run hire for the FDU Devils." Giotta stated. "She has the passion, energy and commitment to serving student-athletes and that was evident in the interview process. The success she has achieved in such a short time is something we are excited about as she makes the transition into the Devils family."
 
Ferdinandi comes to Madison, N.J. after serving as the Head Strength and Coach at Felician University where she headed the training of all their sports programs that included men's and women's basketball, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, softball, baseball, golf, track and field, swimming and bowling teams. She wrote preseason, in-season, postseason and off-season programs as well as doing monthly testing of each individuals sprints, vertical jumps and change of direction. She also should passionate initiative to check in with athletes, coaches and athletic training staff about athletes' performance, injuries and how to adjust programing to their specific needs.
 
Before her time at Felician, she worked for the Pratt Performance Systems in Martinsville, N.J. and interned at Next Level Strength and Conditioning in Fairport, N.Y. Ath both places, she trained adults, young athletes and collegiate athletes. She also led warmups, speed sessions and main lifts. She was active in designing programs, had weekly meetings to go over techniques and coaching cues and organizing the facility as a whole.
 
Ferdanandi brings Head Coaching experience to Fairleigh Dickinson University as she serves as the Head Gymnastics Coach for the Surgents Elite School of Gymnastics in Westfield, N.J. She coaches all events which includes the vault, beams, and floor routines. Gina works with all ages from middle school to collegiate athletes.
 
Early in her career, she interned with the Total Health, Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in Florham Park, N.J. where she shadowed physical therapists and worked with their patients in the rehabilitation portion of their recoveries and helped assist them with exercises.
 
Ferdanandi is a graduate of SUNY Brockport where she earned her B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in Biology and also was a member of the school's gymnastics team.

"The thing I am looking forward to the most is helping these athletes reach their full potential on and off the field as well as watching them succeed to their fullest potential withing their sports."
