Men's Soccer Falls Just Short in First MAC Freedom Matchup at Stevens, 2-1

Hoboken, N.J. (October 5) – The FDU-Florham Men's Soccer team traveled to Stevens for their first MAC Freedom match of the season a fought until the very last minute but were still short one goal as the Devils saw the 2-1 loss to the Ducks.

The first half was more focused on the defensive side for FDU-Florham as no shots were recorded. In the 40th minute of the match, it was Stevens who struck successfully first as the scoreboard lit up 1-0.
 
The Ducks got the second half started at a rapid pace as Steven's second goal was converted at the 52:22 timestamp.
 
FDU-Florham knew they had to start showing offensive turnover and did so as they recorded three shots before the fourth met the back of the net, after coming off the foot of Drilon Toska (Lincoln, Park)  for his 11th goal of the season. Genti Dauti (Lincoln Park, NJ) was responsible for the assist of Toska's goal.
 
The Devils were able to squeeze one more shot past the Ducks' line of defense before falling short of a goal and the win with a 2-1 final score.

Seeing a full 90 minutes in between the post of FDU-Florham was first-year Victor Ciach ( Ringwood, NJ) as he collected two saves in the match.

In the contest, Stevens outshot FDU-Florham, 13-5, as well as stayed on target for four shots on goal compared to the Devils' two shots on goal. The corner kicks were in favor of the Ducks as they saw five opportunities, compared to FDU's two corner kicks.

FDU-Florham plans to return to Robert T. Shields Field for their next match on Wednesday, October 9 at 4:00 pm against William Paterson.
