Location: Doylestown, Pa. : James Work Memorial Stadium
FDU Goal Scorers:
Drilon Toska (16)
The match started with a bang for the Devils, with just under ten minutes played, at 9:10,
Jonathan Shirley (Lincoln Park, NJ) passed a through ball to
Drilon Toska (Lincoln Park, NJ), and Toska shot it into the net to give FDU the quick 1-0 lead.
The Aggies responded not much later, when at 21:24, an Aggie thrown in was knocked down, and another Delaware Valley player knocked it past the goalkeeper to even up the game at one a piece.
The Devils were motivated though, and just over five minutes later, Toska scored his second goal of the night when a Devils shot was tipped by the keeper, and Toska went behind him to poke it into the net to give the lead back to FDU by a score of 2-1.
Again though, the Aggies wouldn't stay down, as a few minutes before halftime, a Delaware Valley player passed a ball to another, where the ball bounced off his knee and into the net to even the game at two. The score remained the same at the end of an eventful first half.
Both defenses stepped up their game in the second half of the match, as multiple shots were saved from the goalkeepers on both sides. It took until the last few minutes of the match for someone to break the game open, and that team was the FDU-Florham Devils. At 87:23,
Genti Dauti (Lincoln Park, NJ) dribbled the ball at the middle of the field, and passed the ball to Toska, who made some space around him and unleashed a rocket past the goalkeeper to complete his second hat trick of the season, and to give FDU their first win in conference by defeating Delaware Valley, 3-2.
Victor Ciach (Ringwood, NJ) performed very well in the net, racking up four saves.
The match was competitive, as the Devils narrowly had more overall shots (14-12) and shots on goal (7-6). FDU also had more corner kicks (4-2) as well as picking up more fouls (10-8).
The Devils will finish up the regular season and celebrate our senior class on senior day against Arcadia at home. The match will take place this Saturday, November 2
nd, at 12:00 PM.
