Madison, N.J. (October 14) – The FDU-Florham Women's Tennis Team ended their season with a short trip down the street to for the Drew Tri-Match with Pratt. The Devils saw scores of 7-0 in both matches against the Rangers and Cannoneers.
Vs. Drew:
Doubles #1 consisted of
Meliha Bektesevic and
Giavana Caraccioli (Bound Brook, NJ) facing Rangers Kalorin and Weaver, with the set belonging to Drew, 6-2.
Paula Vanegas (Guttenberg, NJ) and
Marilu Guzman (Newark, NJ) surrendered Doubles #2 by a 6-0 score to Parisi and Worthem. Doubles #3 was forfeited by the Devils resulting in the point falling for Drew
Singles #1, #2, #3, and #4 were seen with an 8-0 the score marked the result as
Bektesevic lost to Zamora in Singles #1,
Vanegas dropped Singles #2 to Roesel, Pettoni claimed the win in Singles #3 over
Caraccioli, leaving
Guzman falling to Payami in Singles #4.
The Lone Devils to score points in Singles #5 was
Haidy Abdelmonem (Linden, NJ) as she gave the effort of an 8-2 score against Kosch but was not able to secure the match win. Singles #6 was forfeited by FDU resulting in all points belonging to host Drew for a 7-0 match score.
Vs. Pratt:
The match against the Cannoneers started similarly to Doubles started with
Bektesevic and
Caraccioli surrounding their match to Abraham and Agarwal by a 6-1 score. Doubles #2 placed
Guzman and
Vanegas against Delgado and Sawhney and produced a 6-1 score in favor of Pratt. The final match in the Doubles portion was forfeited by FDU, resulting in the Doubles point belonging to the Cannoneers.
FDU-Florham was able to stand their ground better in these singles matches as
Bektesevic started out in Singles #1 scoring two points, but losing to Abrahman, 8-2. Singles #2 held Agarwal and
Vanegas for a 8-1 score and Singles #3 had Sawhney winning over
Caraccioli, 8-1.
Guzman was overtaken by Delgado by a 8-0 score in Singles #4, resulting in
Abdelmonem filling the final spot for the Devils in Singles #5, but unfortunately losing by an 8-1 score to Ognibene. Singles #6 was once again forfeited, resulting in all seven points belonging to Pratt.
FDU-Florham will rest and train during the winter months as they are now looking towards the spring for their next match.
