Lebanon Valley Takes Down Men’s Basketball, 76-64

Annville, P.A. (January 17) – The FDU-Florham (3-12, 0-5 MAC Freedom) men's basketball team traveled to Lebanon Valley (4-12, 2-3 MAC Freedom) for MAC Freedom play and were taken down by the Flying Dutchmen, 76-64 on Wednesday night. Lebanon Valley went on multiple large runs that ultimately led to the FDU's defeat.  
   
The Fairleigh Dickinson's offense was led by  Ethan Klueh (Orlando, F.L.) who recorded a season-high 14 points followed closely by Joseph Carney (Garwood, N.J.) who scored 12. Andrew Piombino Jr. (Rockaway, N.J) led the team defensively totaling six rebounds on the night. Lebanon Valley was dominant offensively with four players reaching double-digit points. They were led by Evin Timochenko who notched 22.  
  
Lebanon Valley began with a seven-point run to start the game to take an early 7-0 lead. The run ended at the 17:12 mark when Jaqwan Washington(Bryan, Texas.) made a layup to score the Devils first points of the night. The Dutchman then went on a 9-4 run to extend their lead over FDU 16-6. Shortly after, the Devils went on a 15-2 run to take their first lead of the night 6:33 mark, 21-18. This run can be credited to Andre Macranas (Wayne, N.J.), Brian Nichols (Roxbury, N.J), Piombino, and Carney. Seven of those points were made by Nichols. The having the lead would not last long however as Lebanon Valley put together their own big run when they scored 14 points back-to-back to take the lead once again. The Dutchman kept the lead as FDU went into halftime down 32-23.   
   
Lebanon Valley once again came out scoring first with a made three-pointer at the 19:31 mark. The Devils quickly answered back with an 11-5 run to make the score 40-34 with Lebanon Valley still in the lead. This run included baskets from Carson Woods (Phoenix, A.Z.), Klueh, and Washington. Later in the half, the Dutchman extended their lead 62-47 with a 13-5 run that ended at the 8:40 mark. In an attempt to stop the Dutchman, FDU went on a 13-6 run to make the score 72-62 with three minutes remaining in the game. The game ended with two free throw baskets made by Lebanon Valley, followed by a good jumper from Jamal Santana (Randolph, N.J). Despite the battle from the Devils, they were unable to come back from their deficit at halftime allowing the Dutchman to beat them, 76-64.  
  
As a team, FDU-Florham shot 47.9 percent (23 of 48) from the floor, 33.3 percent (8 of 24) from the three-point range, and 66.7 percent (101 of 5) from the free-throw line. The Devils tallied 26 points in the paint, 23 points off the bench, and 42 points on the court.   
   
Lebanon Valley shot 43.9 percent (25 of 57) from the floor, 50 percent (5 of 210) from the three-point range, and 84 percent (21 of 25) from the free-throw line. They totaled 38 points in the paint, 12 points off the bench, and 60 points on the court.  
 
FDU-Florham is on the road again on Saturday, January 20 for their next contest as the Devils play at MAC Freedom opponent Stevens for a 3:00 pm tip off.
