Men’s Soccer Cruises Past CCNY, 7-0

Madison, NJ (September 6) – The FDU-Florham men's soccer team had its foot on the gas early as they scored six goals in the first half and cruised past CCNY, 7-0 on Wednesday night.

The first goal of the game came just a minute a half into the game as Drilon Toska (Boonton, NJ) pushed a ball into the middle of the field where Oliver Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ) made a move and tapped the ball into the lower right corner to score his first goal of the season. The two flipped the order on the next goal as Oliver connected with Drilon who was able to outrace a couple of Beavers defenders and fire a shot into the bottom right of the net to give the Devils a 2-0 advantage.

FDU then found three goals within a three-minute span to take a 5-0 lead. Toska collected his second goal as he took advantage of a fastbreak pass from Diego Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ), made a move past the goalkeeper and placed the ball into the back of the net at the 13:58 mark. Irfan Kermalli (Parsippany, NJ) headed a ball off a corner that was initially saved but ricocheted off the goalkeeper and was able to take advantage of the rebound and shoot it in lower right at the 15:50 timestamp. D. Trujillo then found his third goal of the season as he played a ball off a CCNY defender in front of the net and arced a ball over the goalkeeper's head at the 16:45 mark.

Christian Adame (Passiac, NJ) scored his first two collegiate goals in the contest to close out the scoring on the day and capped of a 7-0 with for the Devils. His first collegiate goal came off a rebound save by CCNY goalkeeper Emerson Ayala at the 41:00 timestamp. He then came back in the second half at the 72:48 mark and rocketed a shot into the back of the net off a

Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) and Tawhed Sherifi (Boonton, NJ) each split a half of action with Petrucci getting the win. Neither player faced a shot during the contest.

The Devils controlled the game from the first whistle, outshooting the Beavers 34-2 in the contest. The teams were even in corner kicks, 2-2.

FDU-Florham returns to Robert T. Shields Field Saturday, September 9 to host Gwynedd Mercy with kickoff slated for 3:00 pm.
