Madison, NJ (September 30) – The FDU-Florham men's soccer suffered their first defeat of the 2023 season as they opened up MAC Freedom play at home against Stevens and fell to the Ducks, 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The first half was a defensive battle where no team was able to find that first goal. The Ducks outshot the Devils in the first half, 6-3 with each team only finding one shot on goal.
It took until the 60:37 mark when
Oliver Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ) fired in the first goal of the contest and gave FDU the 1-0 advantage.
Stevens was awarded a penalty shot with a handball in the penalty box on FDU at the 63:47 mark. Dylan Maund took the shot and scored to nod the contest up, 1-1.
The Ducks took the advantage at 79:10 timestamp when a throw in took a weird hop in front of the net and bounced off an FDU defender's head and into their own goal to give Stevens the 2-1 edge. The Ducks held off the Devils for the rest of the contest to take the conference match.
Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) suffered the loss in net today but made four saves in the effort.
In the contest, Stevens outshot FDU, 12-6 as well as taking the advantage with shots on, 6-3. The Ducks also led in corner kicks with three to the Devils two.
FDU-Florham is back in action when they hit the road against Marywood on Wednesday, October 4, for a non-conference face off starting at 4:00 pm.
