Men's Soccer Shuts Out Marywood, 3-0

Scranton, PA (October 4) - The FDU-Florham men's soccer traveled to Marywood in search of another non-conference win on Wednesday afternoon and will be returning to Madison with a 3-0 victory over the Pacers.

Records: FDU-Florham (7-1-2); Marywood (5-6)
Location: Scranton, PA (Multipurpose Synthetic Turf Field)
FDU Goal Scorers: Drilon Toska (4, 5), Jason Balbuena (1)

The First half proved to be in favor of the Devils as they took aim nine times, as well as being awarded five corner kicks. Marywood was out to slow start with just one shot.

At the 30-minute time mark, the Devils were given an opportunity to score off a free kick by midfield. The ball was sent to Kermalli as he gave it a quick touch and passed it to Drilon Toska (Lincoln Park, NJ) who quickly tapped it to the back of the net, 1-0.

In the second half, the Devils were able to continue to get good looks as Kermalli gave another touch pass to first year Jason Balbuena (Ramsey, NJ) who then sent the ball over the goalie's head for his first collegiate goal.

Marywood had a few opportunities to avoid the shutout, as they added seven shots and four corner kicks before FDU-Florham added its third goal of the night.
With three minutes remaining, Toksa dribbled through the Pacer defenders and drilled it into the back of the net to seal the game at 3-0.

FDU-Florham collectively recorded 14(9) shots, while Marywood collected 8(2) shots in tonight's non-conference match.

Graduate student goalkeeper Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) was only forced to make two saves in the entire duration of the match.

The Devils will visit MAC Freedom opponent Lebanon Valley on Saturday, October 7 at 4 PM.
