Records: FDU-Florham (0-0-2); Drew (0-1-1)
Location: Madison, NJ (Ranger Stadium)
FDU Goal Scorers: Diego Trujillo (1, 2)
In the first half of Sunday evening's match up against Drew and the Devils, it was the Rangers who wanted to make the first statement just 10 minutes in. Drew was able to break away on the left side to rip the ball past the FDU keeper for the first goal of the game. Just a minute later, Drew's Christian Tyson scored the second goal of the day to go up 2-0 early in the first half.
The Devils did not want to go into halftime without showing the Ranger they are still in the game. Sophomore
Diego Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ) was awarded a free kick off a foul and was able to blast the ball from the top and bounced in with 15 minutes left in the first half, 2-1.
The equalizing goal came late in the second half as the Devils needed to convert on a shot to avoid being given the loss. With four minutes left to play
Trujillo worked his way through traffic on the left side and sent the ball to the back of the net for his second goal of the game and season.
Both teams played with urgency as they were tied 2-2 in the final minutes. However, time expired before a team could poses the lead, resulting in a tie Sunday evening.
FDU-Florham graduate student goalkeeper
Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) collected another five saves in today's contest.
The Devils are back in action on Wednesday, September 6 at 7:00 pm when host CCNY for another non-conference match on Robert T. Shields Field.
