Madison, NJ (September 23) - The FDU-Florham men's soccer hosted the Cairn Highlanders in a very wet non-conference match on Saturday afternoon. The Devils came out of the storm with a 1-0 victory, improving their overall record to 5-0-2.

The Devils and Highlanders arrived at the pitch ready to brace the storm as it rained the entirety of the match. FDU-Florham held the advantage in shots through the first half with nine, as well as five corner kick opportunities. Cairn did not hold back as well, as five shots and three corner kicks were seen in the first half from the Highlanders.

The second half pressure to score a goal was felt from each team, as the only goal of the match was scored within the last five minutes (85th minute). The Devils had possession with Diego Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ) in control of the ball, as he sent it up to teammate Drilon Toska (Lincoln Park, NJ), in hope of the ball bouncing off his foot for a goal. The ball did bounce off a foot, but it was a Highlander who scored the own goal for the Devils.

Time expired before Cairn could regain possession to score, resulting in the 1-0 win for FDU-Florham.

Graduate student goalkeeper Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) stood in goal for the entire of the match and collected three saves on ten shots.

The Devils will be back on Robert T. Shields to host Yeshiva on Wednesday September 27. The kickoff is set for 4:00pm.
