FDU once again went on a short run of four straight points including kills from Everett, Gabbie Hart (Cherry Hill, NJ) and Charlotte Fruscione (Mahwah, NJ) put the Devils back in the driver seat but Maritime kept close. After a 10-5 advantage for FDU, Maritime inched its way back and eventually brought the set to withing one at the 15-14-point mark. The Devils tried to pull away, but the Privateers kept finding ways to score and eventually took the set to the 24-24 mark where they took their first lead of the night after an attacking error. Both teams see sawed the lead in extra points with no team able to take the set until an attacking error, a service ace by Charlee Tarlac (Union, NJ) and a bad set helped FDU escape with a 2-0 lead.

Set 3: Fairleigh Dickinson returned to their first set form, jumping out to a 5-0 lead thanks to three kills from Reiter, a kill from Everett and a service ace from Vanessa Freeman (Piscataway, NJ).
