Montclair, NJ. (September 20) The FDU-Florham Field Hockey traveled to Montclair State for a Wednesday evening non-conference match. The contest resulted in favor of Montclair as they defeated the Devils by a score of 3-1.

The Red Hawks got straight to work as the first goal was scored 9 minutes into the first quarter. Montclair's Sami Bloom was able to collect the rebound of the Devils defensive save for a goal.
Montclair's second goal came from Carly Amerman as she blasted the ball in off a penalty corner, in the 24th minutes of the game.

Before FDU could comprehend the second Red Hawk goal, their third goal of the game from Sadie Elichlin in the 25th minute.

Despite recording seven shots in the second half, the Devils' lone goal of the night was scored in the third quarter, marking the 39:40 timestamp. Senior Megan Surgent (Wall, NJ) was able to quickly collect the ball off a rebound for the goal, to avoid a midweek shutout, 3-1.

Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ) the keeper for FDU-Florham, was seen in goal for the entire game and faced 11 shots, with 8 of those shots counting as saves.

FDU-Florham will next play under the Friday night lights of Ceder Crest College on September 22. The start time of the non-conference match will be at 7pm.
