Madison, NJ. (September 12) The FDU-Florham Field Hockey team gave a valent effort in their home opener against Muhlenberg, but ultimately fell in double overtime by a score of 1-2.

FDU-Florham ran on to Robert T. Shields, Tuesday evening, ready for their home opener against Muhlenberg. The first quarter of the game showed the competitiveness of each team as FDU stood their ground on the defensive end and did not give up a goal.

Two minutes into the second quarter, the Mule's Abba Diglio was assisted by her teammate to take the early 1-0 lead.

The second half looked brighter for the Devils as they were able to record their goal at the 36:27 mark. Junior
Morgan Keller (Toms River, NJ) put her name on the goal with a quick circle around her defender and a shot to the back of the cage to tie, 1-1.
The competitiveness was still running at high levels at the end of regulation time. The game went into double overtime, resulting in Muhlenberg scoring a golden goal, 1-2, in the 79th minute of the match.
Muhlenberg out shot the Devils 34-4 (24-2) and held majority on penalty corners, 19-3.
FDU-Florham keeperÂ
Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ) made a career high of 22 save in tonight's contest but it was just shy of stopping the Mules.
The Devils will host Shenandoah on Saturday, September 16, at 11am to kick-off homecoming weekend.
