Wilkes-Barre, PA (April 2) – The FDU-Florham women's tennis team traveled to King's College for its first MAC Freedom match of the season but experienced a 9-0 setback this Afternoon. The Devils are now 1-4, 0-1, while the Monarchs moved to 3-5, 1-0.
At No. 1 doubles,
Maggie Cronkhite (Deep River, Conn.) and
Ella Olsen (Holmdel, NJ) rallied a good effort, but fell by an 0-8 final. King's won at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles by scores of 5-8 and 3-8.
The Monarchs won all six singles matches in straight sets including by 6-1, 6-2 scores at No. 1 singles. At No. 4 singles,
Paula Vangeas (Union City, NJ) was able to give King's Bralan Drollas a run, but ultimately fell to the scores of 7-5, 4-6.
FDU-Florham will travel to DeSales University on Tuesday, April 4 for a MAC Freedom matchup with the Bulldogs.
