Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (April 2)- The FDU-Florham men's tennis team (3-2, 1-0 MAC FREE) notched its third-straight win as they shut down King's (4-5, 0-1 MAC FREE), 9-0 for their third straight clean sweep.
The Devils saw dominant wins in doubles play as
Tyler Crook (East Orange, NJ) and
Joni Carasso (Buenos Aires, Argentina) teamed up in the No. 1 slot for an 8-1 victory and
Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, NJ) and
Matthew Emery (Howell, NJ) winning 8-2 from the No. 3 while
Zach Puccia (Red Bank, NJ) and
Brandon Schwartz (Gladwyne, Pa.) held off the competition for an 8-5 win at the No. 2.
FDU took all six singles matches to secure the sweep. Crook won from the No.1 spot, 6-0 and 6-2 while Carasso won from the No. 2, 6-4 and 6-1. Puccia secured the win at the No. 3 slot, 6-1 and 6-1 while Duval was victorious from the No. 4 slot, 6-2 and 6-3. Emery took his victory, 6-2 and 6-0 and
Karanveer Saini (Punjab, India) secured the clean sweep in the No. 6 hole, 6-1 and 6-2.
FDU-Florham travels to DeSales for MAC Freedom action Wednesday, April 5 at 3:30 pm.
