Center Valley, PA (April 19) – The FDU-Florham Men's lacrosse team (6-9, 2-4) took a trip to DeSales University for a Wednesday evening MAC Freedom contest, that resulted in a 18-7 loss for the Devils.
Senior Midfielder
Brian Stewart (Narbeth, PA) collected two goals for two points, as Sophomore midfielder
Brenden Fabin (Randolph, NJ) added two goals and two points as well.
From the jump, the Bulldogs took the lead by scoring 17 unanswered goals in the first half and into the third quarter.
FDU-Florham's first goal was netted at the 6:28 mark of the third quarter by Stewart as he was assisted by
Ronnie Trisuzzi (Morris Knolls, NJ). The Devils added another two goals in the end of the third quarter and in the beginning of the fourth quarter, 3-17, before DeSales added its final goal in the fourth.
Fabin added his two goals to box score during the final ten minutes of the game. Stewart, along with
Robert Nawrocki (Northfield, NJ), both added the final goals before the game clock expired and was sent home with the 7-18 loss.
The Devils held a 37-49 disadvantage in shots, was 26-40 in ground balls, but went a 15-for-18 on the clear. FDU-Florham was successful on six faceoff attempts.
In the net,
Dalton Povilaitis (Jefferson, NJ) (6-7) was given the loss, but not before making nine saves in today's contest. Quinten Lyons (5-7) from DeSales was given the win after making six saves on the day.
FDU-Florham will host Wilkes University for a MAC Freedom contest on Saturday, April 22. The first face-off is scheduled for 1pm.
