Madison, NJ (April 18) – The FDU-Florham women's tennis team (1-9, 0-5 MAC FREE) fell to MAC Freedom opponent Arcadia (3-7, 1-3 MAC FREE), 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
Arcadia took a 3-0 lead after doubles action. Savannah Falk and Karolina Iordache defeated the pairing of
Maggie Cronkhite (Deep River, Conn.) and
Ella Olsen (Holmdel, NJ), 8-3 while the team Kate Wyszkowski and Leah Hatcher took down the duo of
Ashley Gaetani (Ridgefield Park, NJ) and
Paula Vanegas (Union City, NJ), 8-0. The team of
Kiana Rosa (Haledon, NJ) and
Emily Prachethauser (Morristown, NJ) forfeited against Emma Chobert and Bridget Terry to round out doubles play.
In singles action, The Knights won all their matches in straight set to earn the clean sweep. Falk downed Cronkhite, 6-1 and 6-0 while Olsen was defeated by Iordache, 6-0 and 6-1. The match clinching victory came from Wyszkowski as she defeated Gaetani, 6-3 and 6-2. Arcadia completed the sweep with Link Bertrand taking down Vanegas (6-0 and 7-6), Hatcher defeating Prachthauser (6-1 and 6-1) and Terry beating Rosa (6-2 and 6-1).
FDU-Florham will play its final match of the season against MAC Freedom opponent Wilkes on Saturday, April 22 at 12:00 pm.
