Madison, NJ (April 22) – The FDU-Florham women's tennis team (1-10, 0-5 MAC FREE) fell to MAC Freedom opponent Arcadia (5-5, 5-2MAC FREE), 9-0 on Saturday morning.
Wilkes held a 3-0 lead after doubles action. The pairing of
Maggie Cronkhite (Deep River, Conn.) and
Ella Olsen (Holmdel, NJ) played Tea Amerise and Kaitlyn O'Neil to a tie breaker, but ultimately fell 8-7 and 5-0 in the tie breaker set. Cassidy Greenman and Leah Hatcher took down the duo of
Ashley
Gaetani (Ridgefield Park, NJ) and
Paula Vanegas (Union City, NJ), 8-1 and completed the doubles sweep as Carly Yuscavage and Zoe Klein defeated the team of
Kiana Rosa (Haledon, NJ) and
Emily Prachethauser (Morristown, NJ), 8-0.
In singles action, The Colonels won all their matches in straight sets to earn the clean sweep. Greenman downed Cronkhite, 6-3 and 6-1 while Olsen was swept by Amerise, 6-0 and 6-0. The match clinching victory came from Klein as she defeated Gaetani, 6-1 and 6-1. Wilkes completed the sweep with O'Neil taking down Vanegas (6-3 and 6-4), Farmer blanking Prachthauser (6-0 and 6-0) and Terry upending Rosa (6-0 and 6-0).
