Men’s Lacrosse Falls on the Road at Arcadia, 23-7

Glenside, PA. (April 1) – The FDU-Florham men's lacrosse team (4-7, 0-2 MAC FREE) fell to conference foe Arcadia (3-6, 2-0 MAC FREE), 23-7 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Lucas Berghahn (Poughkeepsie, NY) and Robert Nawrocki (Northfield, NJ) each tallied two goals for the Devils while Nicholas Perillo (Jackson, NJ) collected two points on a goal and an assist. Matt Reifer (Newtown, Pa.) got the start in net and made seven saves while Dalton Povilaitis (Jefferson, NJ) came in for 35 minutes if relief in goal and made 14 saves.
 
Brian Albertsen was the points leader for the Knights as he totaled six points on three goals and three assists followed by Kyle McLaughlin who fired in five goals during the contest. Nathaniel Hudgins secured the win for Arcadia in goal while making eight saves.
 
It was a back-and-forth contest in the first quarter with Berghan putting the game's first goal on the board at the 10:50 mark in the first quarter. Arcadia tied the contest at the 9:38 timestamp before Berghan helped retake the lead just a few seconds later. Arcadia closed out the first quarter with two goals to take a 3-2 lead into the second half.
 
The Knights scored six straight goals in the second quarter before the Devils could add two towards the back half of the quarter to end the first half with Arcadia holding a 9-4 advantage. The Knights continued to distance themselves from the Devils in the second half, winning the quarters outscoring FDU, 5-1 in the third quarter and 9-2 in the fourth quarter to take the conference win.
 
As a team, The Devils took 30 shots with 19 on goal and accumulated 36 ground balls. FDU also succeeded on 17 of its 22 clears.
 
Arcadia posted single-game conference best numbers in shots taken (71) and ground balls (60). The Knights were also successful on 18-of-20 clear attempts and won 25 faceoffs on the day.
 
FDU-Florham continues its conference road schedule as they travel to King's (Pa.) for a matchup with the Monarchs on Wednesday, April 5 at 7:00 pm.
