Brooklyn, NY (March 30) – The FDU-Florham men's tennis defeated Brooklyn College, 9-0, in non-conference action this afternoon on the road. FDU-Florham is now 2-2 on the season with MAC Freedom play opening on Saturday.
At No. 1 doubles
Joni Carasso (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and
Tyler Crook (East Orange, NJ) blanked Craig Pazarecki and Ryan Hume, 8-0. FDU-Florham took a 3-0 lead after doubles as
Zach Puccia (Red Bank, NJ) and
Brandon Schwartz (Glawyne, Pa.) won 8-4 at No. 2, while
Ronald Duval (Old Bridge, NJ) and
Matthew Emery (Howell, NJ) won 8-1 at No. 3.
All six singles matches were decided in straight sets. Crook eased past Pazarecki, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1, while Carasso played a tighter match with Hume, 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2. Puccia picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 3, while Duval toppled Mujibur Shaad, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 4. Emery and
Karanveer Saini (Punjab, India) rounded out the list of winners today at Emery won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 and Saini won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 6.
FDU-Florham will travel to King's College to open MAC Freedom play on Saturday afternoon.
