Women's Basketball Tripped Up By Delaware Valley, 73-36

Madison, NJ. (February 14) – The FDU-Florham Women's basketball team hosted MAC Freedom opponent Delaware Valley University, for a game that resulted in a 73-36 loss for the Devils on Saturday evening.

FDU-Florham dropped to 0-19 overall and to 0-15 in MAC Freedom play, while Delaware Valley improved to 11-13 overall and to 7-8 in the league.

The Devils were led by Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ), who totaled 19 points and three rebounds. Whitney Shyposh (Westfield, NJ) added eight points and collected four boards for the Devils in tonight contest.
 
The Devils opened with scoring the first points of the game with a jumper by Shyposh. Delaware Valley answered with a 10-3 run to retake the lead with four minutes left in the first quarter. Rodriguez connected on multiple shots to help close the score to 15-10 at the end of the first.
 
In the second quarter, FDU-Florham's free throw shooting was a critical aspect to help keep the game alive, as they shot 100.0-percent (4-for 4). Delaware Valley shot 46.7-percent (7-for-15) as the Aggies led 32-21 at the break.
 
Delaware Valley came out of the locker room in third and sealed the game by outscoring the Devils 23-4 in the quarter and 41-15 in the half to account for the 73-36 final.
 
Delaware Valley Maisie Neuber collected 24 points on 10-for-14 from the floor. Haley Keenan added 19 points and seven rebounds to help secure the win.

FDU-Florham shot 21.3-percent (13-for-61) from the floor, 20.8-percent (5-for-24) from three point range and 71.4-percent (5 -for-7) from the free throw line, while Delaware Valley shot 47.6-percent (30-for-63) from the floor, 30.8-percent (4-for-13) from three point range and 64.3-percent (9-for-14) from the free throw line.

Delaware Valley scored 46 points in the paint and 14 points off FDU-Florham turnovers.
 
FDU-Florham will travel to MAC Freedom rival Misericordia University for their final game of the season. Tip-off is set for 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 18.
