Dallas, Pa. (February 18) – FDU-Florham guard
Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ) capped her first year with the program with a career-high 32 points despite the Devils 102-43 MAC Freedom loss at Misericordia University on Saturday afternoon.
FDU-Florham capped its season with an 0-20 record, while Misericordia, 18-7 overall in 2022-23, clinched the third seed in the upcoming MAC Freedom playoffs.
The Devils were led by Rodriguez as she added seven rebounds and three assists to her stat line today.
Whitney Shyposh (Westfield, NJ) pulled down ten rebounds, while
Destiny Knight (Philadelphia, Pa.) registered five points in today's finale.
Misericordia was paced by Alyssa Bondi, who tallied 29 points, while Katie Ryan registered 11 points and nine boards for the hosts.
The Cougars outscored the Devils 28-4 in the first quarter and never looked back en route to the 102-43 win. FDU-Florham got shots to fall in the second, however, the Devils trailed 54-19 at the break. Misericordia poured on 48 more points in the second half, while only allowing FDU-Florham to score 24 over the second 20 minutes of play.
FDU-Florham shot 25.7-percent (19-for-74) from the floor, 20.0-percent (3-for-15) from three point range and 40.0-percent (2-for-5) from the free throw line. The Devils scored 20 points in the paint and four points off the bench.
Misericordia shot 43.0-percent (40-for-93) from the floor, 40.0-percent (20-for-50) from three point range and 40.0-percent (2-for-5) from the free throw line. The Cougars scored 30 points in the paint, 31 second chance points and 53 points off the bench.
