Madison, NJ (February 14) – The FDU-Florham men's basketball team fell to Delaware Valley University by a 69-46 final in MAC Freedom action on Tuesday evening in the Ferguson Recreation Center.
FDU-Florham (3-21, 2-13 MAC Freedom) was paced by
Matthew Johnson (Oak Ridge, NJ), who tallied a 13 point, 12 rebound double double – his third double double of the campaign.
Carson Woods (Phoenix, Ariz.) matched Johnson's 13 points to lead the devils offensively. Delaware Valley (12-12, 7-8 MAC Freedom) was led by Goddy Marc, who registered 13 points off the bench for the Aggies.
Delaware Valley led from buzzer to buzzer and jumped out to a 16-13 edge over the first 13 minutes of tonight's contest. The Aggies outscored the Devils 18-7 over the final 6:55 of the opening stanza for a 33-20 advantage at the break.
The Aggies maintained their double digit advantage throughout the course of the second have and eventually led their lead to as many 27 points and won by a 69-46 final.
FDU-Florham shot 28.8-percent (17-for-59) from the floor, did not make a basket from behind the arc and went 12-for-14 (85.7-percent) from the free throw line. The Devils scored 28 points in the paint and 11 points off the bench.
Delaware Valley shot 45.2-percent (28-for-62) from the floor, 26.9-percent (7-for-26) from behind the arc and 75.0-percent (6-for-8) from the free throw line. The Aggies scored 34 points in the paint, 24 points off turnovers and 33 points off the bench.
FDU-Florham will wrap up its season on Saturday, February 18 with a trip to MAC Freedom rival Misericordia at 3:00 pm.
