Men's Basketball Upended at Lycoming, 85-69

Williamsport, Pa. (February 11) – The FDU-Florham men's basketball team fell to Lycoming College, 85-69, in MAC Freedom action on Saturday afternoon. FDU-Florham fell to 3-20 overall on the season (2-12 MAC Freedom), while Lycoming moved to 15-8 overall and 10-4 in league play.
 
FDU-Florham was led by an 18 point, two steal, three assist, two rebound effort from Jamal Santana (Randolph, NJ), while Brian Nichols (Roxbury, NJ) tallied 17 points, four rebounds and two assists. All seven Devils who played today scored at least four points. Lycoming was led by Dyson Harward, who posted a 23 point, 13 rebound double double for the Warriors.
 
The first 17 minutes of action this afternoon were tightly contested between FDU-Florham and Lycoming as the score stood even on five occasions and never became more than a six point deficit for either side over the stretch. Lycoming, however, with the score tied at 30-30 went on a 10-2 run to end the half up 40-32.
 
This eight point swing to end the half was the run Lycoming needed as the Warriors led by double digits for the majority of the second stanza. The hosts shot at a 50.0-percent clip (18-for-36) over the second 20 minutes today to pull away for the win.
 
As a team, FDU-Florham shot 46.8-percent (22-for-47) from the floor, 42.1-percent (8-for-19) from three point range and 73.9-percent (17-for-23) from the free throw line. The Devils scored 26 points in the paint and 12 points off the bench.
 
Lycoming shot 44.9-percent (31-for-69) from the floor, 36.7-percent (11-for-30) from behind the arc and 92.3-percent (12-for-13) from the free throw line. The Warriors scored 38 points in the paint, 25 points off turnovers and 16 second chance points.
 
FDU-Florham will return to Madison for its final home game of the 2022-23 season on Tuesday, February 14 against Delaware Valley University at 6:00 pm.
