Location: Robert T. Shields (Madison, NJ)
FDU Goal Scorers: Diego Trujillo (4), Ryan Maguire (1)

FDU-Florham was ready for action as they kept a fast pace to set the tone. Diego Trujillo's (Bridgewater, NJ) first shot of the night was a tone setter, as the sophomore aimed for the goal but just angled off slightly to hit the post.

His next shot was converted for the Devils first goal, at the 16-minute mark. Brother and teammate Oliver Trujillo (Bridgewater, NJ) lined up for the corner kick and found Diego's head to bounce the ball to the top left corner of the goal.

It was not long until the Gryphons answered with a header of their own, just three minutes after the Devils'. Braedon Kehan took the free kick, which he sent the ball to Mike Fienman, who headed it past the keeper to tie the score at 1-1.

FDU-Florham ended the first half with thirteen total shots and five corner kicks for the advantage over Gwynedd Mercy, who ended the half with five shots and one corner kick.

The game winning shot was scored by Ryan Maguire (Toms River, NJ) 15 minutes in the second half. He was able to score off his own rebound shot to record his first goal of the season and first game-winner of his collegiate career.

FDU-Florham held the advantage again in the second half with 14 shots. However, Gwynedd Mercy saw a few good opportunities to score but was only able to collect six shots and was short a goal, ultimately falling to the Devils 2-1.

Graduate student goalkeeper Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) was kept in goal for the entirety of the match and was only forced to make two saves in non-conference action.

The Devils will be traveling to Arcadia on Saturday, October 14 for a 3:00pm MAC Freedom contest.
