Glenside, PA (October 14) - The FDU-Florham men's soccer team traveled to MAC Freedom opponent, Arcadia, for a Saturday afternoon match in the rain. The contest resulted in a 2-2 tie after 90 minutes of play.

FDU-Florham's goal's did not come in the first half, but that does not mean that they were not taking shots at the Arcadia's goalkeeper. The Devils posted nine shots and three corner kicks in the first half, compared to Arcadia's five shots and two corner kicks.

The first goal of the match was put up by the Knights, as Johan Savage was able to give the early 1-0 lead just eight minutes into the match.

Arcadia's second goal of the match came at the 18:38 timestamp, but was not awarded to a specific player. The Knights were able to take a commanding 2-0 lead due to an FDU own goal.

Coming back into the second half, the Devils did not let the rain dampen the fire as Jonathan Shirley (Lincoln Park, NJ) recorded his third goal of the season by corralling the ball off a defender and lasering the shot in for a goal, just three minutes into the second half.

The game-tying goal was assisted by Irfan Kermalli (Parsippany, NJ) as his initial shot on goal was saved, but had Ryan Maguire (Toms River, NJ) taking the rebound shot to tie the game at 2-2, in the 59th minute.

Both teams' defense held strong to not give up a third goal, which ultimately resulted in a 2-2 tie in MAC Freedom play.

Statistics showed that FDU-Florham held the advantage in shots with a total of 18(9), while Arcadia totaled 7(3) shots through 90-minutes of play.

Anthony Petrucci (West Orange, NJ) peered through the rain and was able to record two saves in the Devils' third MAC Freedom contest of the season.

FDU-Florham will be back on Robert T. Shields Field on Wednesday, October 18 when they host MAC Freedom opponent, Misericordia, at 4pm.
