Field Hockey Falls Short Against Lebanon Valley on Senior Night, 3-2

Madison, NJ (October 20) The FDU-Florham Field Hockey team honored it's five senior ahead of the MAC Freedom matchup, between the Devils and the Dutchman of Lebanon Valley. Tonight's game resulted in a loss for the FDU-Florham as they were short by a single goal, 3-2.

It was business for Lebanon Valley as their first of the game was scored in the first five minutes. Dutchman, Gracie Johnson, was able to score of the assist for the early lead.
 
In the second quarter, the Devils were able to score the equalizing goal with three minutes to play in the half. Junior, Dominique Rodriguez (Pittsgrove, NJ) dove to the ball and was able to tip it to the back of the cage, 1-1.
 
Towards the end of the third quarter, with three minutes to play, Lebanon Valley was able to take their second lead of the night with a goal from Gracie Johnson as she received a pass after the ball was worked around the arc.
 
Lebanon Valley scored their final goal of the night at the 50:24 timestamp of the fourth quarter. Rebecca Lane was able to gather the ball of a defender's deflection to go up 3-1.
 
FDU-Florham's second and final goal of the night came within the final moments of the game, three penalty corners were awarded to the Devils, with Morgan Keller (Toms River, NJ) converting on their final opportunity for a goal, 3-2.
 

Overall, statistics showed Lebanon Valley with eleven shots and FDU-Florham having five shots, with all the Devils' shots being on target. FDU-Florham did hold the advantage in penalty corners as they were awarded nine compared to six corners from the Dutchman.
 
Emily Prachthauser (Morristown, NJ) was seen in the cage for the Devils and collected six saves in tonight's MAC Freedom contest. First year Adrianna Goodwin (Toms River, NJ) made her first collegiate appearance in a non-traditional fashion as she recorded her first save on Lebanon Valley's penalty stroke.

The Devils will be on the road for their next contest, as they will face MAC Freedom opponent, Stevens, on Wednesday October 25 at 7pm.
