Doylestown, PA (October 13) It was a tough battle in Doylestown, PA as the FDU-Florham field hockey team took on Delaware Valley. The Devils ultimately lost the contest, 2-1, during Friday's MAC Freedom Conference match up.
Gianna Ercolani (Marlton, NJ) was the only goal scorer of the night.

Both teams went back and forth during the first period, as they attempted to score. But neither team was successful until the second period when Delaware Valley's Isabella Davis fired a shot, assisted from Kaylee Hudson, at the 16-minute mark. The Aggies were able to take the lead, 1-0.
Quickly into the third period, at the 36-minute mark, FDU was able to tie the game 1-1.
Megan Surgent (Wall, NJ) made a perfect pass through the Aggies defense, finding Ercolani who tipped the ball into the cage.
Delaware Valley was soon able to the lead back when Kaylee Hartung passed the ball across the arc to Ashley Birmingham, who ripped the shot to the back of the cage, making the final score 2-1.
During the game, the Devils accumulated a total 12 corner penalties and 5 shots on goal.
The goalkeeper for FDU-Florham,
Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ), faced a total of eight shots and ended the night with six saves.
FDU-Florham will be hosting DeSales University for their next contest on Wednesday, October 16. Wednesday's game will be their Breast Cancer awareness game, honoring those who have battled and are currently battling Breast Cancer. The contest will be held on Robert T. Shield Field at 7:00pm.
