Madison, NJ (September 3) – The FDU-Florham wrapped up play at the 2022 Drew University Fall Festival this afternoon against Cabrini University and fell to the Cavaliers by a 6-0 final. This afternoon's contest was a rematch of last season's ECAC Division III quarterfinal game.
Cabrini scored twice in the first quarter and twice in the second for a 4-0 lead at halftime. Both goals in the first for the Cavaliers were scored by Adrianna Jones and came within a span of 1:36 on the clock.
In the second, Caroline Gallagher tallied a goal on a penalty stroke and then Jones completed the hat trick midway through the stanza.
In the opening quarter, FDU-Florham junior
Rachel McHale (Montville, NJ) had the best looks at net as her first shot was stopped by a Cabrini defender and her other attempt was stopped by keeper Courtney Keith.
Cabrini added two goals in the third to account for the 6-0 final.
In net for the Devils,
Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ) made a career-high ten saves over the first 45 minutes of action. Keith made three saves for Cabrini over the first three quarters of the game.
FDU-Florham will return to action on Wednesday, September 7 at 4:00 pm with a non-conference contest at Ramapo College.
FDU-Florham is currently running a campaign in honor of former Devils men's basketball head coach, men's golf coach and athletic director Roger Kindel.
All donations will go directly towards funding a complete renovation of the basketball and volleyball court inside the Ferguson Recreation Center with his name dawned on both sides.
