Madison, NJ (September 23) – FDU-Florham field hockey improved to 2-0 in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play with a 2-1 victory over Delaware Valley University on Friday night on Robert T. Shields Field.

After a scoreless first quarter, Devils sophomore
Dominique Rodriguez (Pittsgrove, NJ) scored the game's first goal just 23-seconds into the second off a feed by first-
year Julianna Medina (Linwood, NJ). Medina's assist was the first one of her collegiate career.
Prior to halftime, Delaware Valley knotted the game up at 1-1 off a penalty corner attempt. Ashley Birmingham fired a shot into the top right corner of the cage off a feed by Sadie Strober.
FDU-Florham and Delaware Valley played a scoreless third quarter, junior
Erin Kay (Lewes, Del.) gave the Devils a 2-1 advantage 1:29 into the fourth off a pass in front of the cage by Rodriguez. Kay's goal was her first of the season and the first of her collegiate career.
Devils keeper
Emily Prachthauser (Morristown, NJ) made a one her six saves on the night with six minutes to play in regulation as the Aggies lined up for a penalty corner attempt. The junior made a total of five saves over the final 6:18 of the game tonight for the Devils.
FDU-Florham will return to action on Wednesday, September 28 with a non-conference matchup with William Paterson University at 7:00 pm on Robert T. Shield Field.
