Volleyball Falls to Hunter in Non-Conference Play

New York, NY. (September 20) – In a non-conference match against Hunter College, the FDU-Florham volleyball team faced defeat in four sets by scores of 14-25, 25-22, 14-25, 14-25.

  • Hunter took the opening set, 25-14, before FDU bounced back and tied the match with a 25-22 win in set two. The hosts however took sets three and four to win Tuesday night's match.
     
  • FDU Junior Adrienne DeFuria (Randolph, NJ) produced her 14th double-double of her career with 12 kills and 12 digs to go along with a team-high six aces. Graduate Student Kacie Ros (Bridgewater, NJ) added 24 assists and sophomore Kiara Salme (Lyndhurst, NJ) tallied 18 digs.
     
  • Defensively, FDU first-year Gabbie Hart (Cherry Hill, NJ) registered two blocks, while sophomore Rachel Reiter (Riverside, Calif.) posted a single block in Tuesday's match.
     
  • Hunter had two student-athletes with nine or more kills and two student-athletes with 15 or more assist en route to the win for the hosts.

Hunter held a 47-32 advantage in kills over the Devils.

FDU will be back in action against DeSales for a MAC Freedom Conference game, Wednesday, September 21 at 7pm in Center Valley, Pa.
