Seven Different Devils Score for Field Hockey in 7-0 Victory Against Sage

Madison, NJ (September 21) – Seven different Devils found the back of the cage for the FDU-Florham field hockey team during a 7-0 victory against Sage College on Wednesday night.

The Devils found two goals within two minutes of each other at the 8:13 and 9:42 marks. Graduate student forward Haleigh Flukey (Ocean City, NJ) found sophomore forward Allie Serio (Scotch Plains, NJ) in front of the cage. First year forward Julianna Medina (Linwood, NJ) scored in similar fashion off a pass from first year midfielder Erin Collins (Bridgewater, NJ) to give FDU the 2-0 edge.

FDU collected another pair of goals in the second quarter. Collins sunk a shot in from the top of the arc at the 19:06 timestamp while junior midfielder Rachel McHale (Montville, NJ) collected a goal at the 19:36 mark off a rebound from the defender to extend the lead to 4-0.

The Devils closed out the scoring in the contest with three goals scored in the third quarter from sophomore forward Dominique Rodriguez (Pittsgrove, NJ), senior midfielder Lauren Nawrotzki (Flemington, NJ), and sophomore defender Morgan Keller (Toms River, NJ) to take the 7-0 victory.

Goalies Emily Prachthauser (Asbury, NJ) and Emily Schlessinger (Asbury, NJ) each played a half for FDU without seeing a shot.

The Devils dominated on both ends of the field, seeing 26 shots on offense while limiting the Gators to just one shot on defense.

FDU returns to MAC Freedom play Friday, September 23, hosting Delaware Valley at 7:00 pm.
