Field Hockey Drops 3-1 Decision at Muhlenberg

Allentown, Pa. (September 14) – The FDU-Florham field hockey team fell to Muhlenberg College, 3-1, on Wednesday evening on the road in non-conference action.

FDU-Florham junior Rachel McHale (Montville, NJ) registered her goal of the season and put the Devils up 1-0 midway through the opening quarter as she collected the ball off a rebounded shot by sophomore Morgan Keller (Toms River, NJ).

With just 1:26 left in the first half, Muhlenberg knotted the game up at 1-1 as Katie Raab fed the ball to Nicole Randazza for the equalizer. Muhlenberg took a 2-1 edge midway through the third quarter as Abba Diglio finished a long pass from Erin Jackson.

Before the third was over Diglio added Muhlenberg's third goal of the contest.

FDU-Florham keeper Emily Prachthauser (Morristown, NJ) made a career-high 11 saves on 14 shots faced in a complete game effort for the Devils.

As a team, Muhlenberg held advantages in shots (18-12), while FDU-Florham posted a 15-7 margin in penalty corners.

FDU-Florham will open Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play and host its first game of the 2022 season on Friday, September 16 against Misericordia University at 7:00 pm at Robert T. Shields Field.
