Madison, NJ (September 9) – The FDU-Florham volleyball team fell in straight sets to Stockton University on Friday evening in non-conference action by set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 25-16. The Devils and Ospreys both moved their records to 1-3 on the season after Friday's matchup in the Ferguson Recreation Center.
Sophomore
Jada Everett (Hackensack, NJ) led the way for the Devils with seven kills, while
Kacie Ros (Bridgewater, NJ) registered a team-high eight digs and 16 assists in the effort. Stockton was guided by Haley Green, who hit .667 with 16 kills on 24 attacks and zero errors.
Set 1: The Devils hung with Stockton point for point and had a lead multiple times throughout the early part of the set until the score was knotted at 15-15. The visitors ended the opening set on a 10-6 run that was capped by a kill by Green for the early edge.
Set 2: Stockton led the second set from start to finish after racing out to an 8-3 advantage. Up 12-7, the Ospreys went on a 13-5 run for a 2-0 lead in the match. Stockton's run featured spurts of five and six consecutive points. As a team, Stockton hit .395 in set one, .303 in set two and .577 in set three.
Set 3: As they did in the second, the Ospreys led from start to finish in set three to secure the three-set sweep on the road. An error by FDU-Florham paired with an ace by Kate Louer finished the match in straight sets.
FDU will return to Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) action on Tuesday, September 13 at Wilkes University.
