Men’s Soccer Routs Gwynedd Mercy, 4-0

Gwynedd Valley, PA (September 10) - The FDU-Florham men's soccer team scored four first half goals en route to a 4-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.

The Devils quickly took a 1-0 lead within the first six minutes of the contest as sophomore midfielder Irfan Kermalli (Parsippany, NJ) fired in a shot of a loose corner ball.

FDU extended its lead 3-0 within a five-minute span at the 19:17 and 24:21 marks. Sophomore midfielder Drilon Toska (Lincoln Park, NJ) fired in a shot on the near side from 30 yards out while a well-timed pass from junior defender Yariel Parapi (North Bergen, NJ)  was put into the back of the net by sophomore defender Jack Montanile (Toms River, NJ).

Toska found his second goal of the contest at the 38:09 mark off a rebound shot from fifth year forward Sam Allington (London, England), taking the 4-0 first half lead. The Devils held the Griffins to five shots in the second half to seal the victory.

FDU outshot Gwynedd Mercy, 25-10 in the contest.

Graduate goalkeeper Tiernan Grey (Staten Island, NY) collected three saves during his second straight shutout.

The Devils continue on the road Wednesday, September 14, taking on Centenary (NJ) at 3:00 pm.

FDU-Florham is currently running a campaign in honor of former Devils men's basketball head coach, men's golf coach and athletic director Roger Kindel.

All donations will go directly towards funding a complete renovation of the basketball and volleyball court inside the Ferguson Recreation Center with his name dawned on both sides.
