Madison, NJ (July 18) – FDU-Florham Head Athletic Trainer
Jesse Boyland has resigned from his position with the Devils to accept the job of Head Athletic Trainer at Division III Ramapo College of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).
"Being Head Athletic Trainer at FDU-Florham has been a wonderful experience and one I will never forget. I want to thank my sports medicine staff,
Lauren Michel,
Iavana Parker, and Dominick Barbarulo for the past two years while I was in this position and I could not have done any of it without their help. That goes to same to our support staff/"first floor crew" through the years (currently)
Jay Ashby,
Katy Fissel,
Rory Gallagher,
Joe Lopopolo, as the cohesiveness we all had helped the program be the best it can be," said Boyland.
Boyland joined the FDU-Florham sports medicine staff in the summer of 2018 after graduating with his Master's Degree from Seton Hall University and stepped into the interim head athletic training role for the 2020-21 academic year. In the Summer of 2021, Boyland had the interim tag removed and was named the Head Athletic Trainer for the Devils.
"I want to thank Jesse for his four years of service in the FDU-Florham Athletic Training Room," said
Director of Athletics Jenn Noon. "Jesse made a significant impact on the well-being of our student-athletes and made sure they were ready to compete at the highest level on the field, on the court or in the pool every single day. He will certainly be missed in Madison but we wish him nothing but the best at Ramapo as he takes the next step in his career."
Boyland played a major role for the FDU-Florham sports medicine office during the COVID-19 pandemic as he oversaw all efforts and return to play protocols for the Devils' 19 intercollegiate programs. In the spring of 2021, thanks to the work of Boyland and his team, a majority of teams at FDU-Florham were able to compete against teams in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) and have the opportunity to play for a postseason berth.
"To all of our coaches and administration, thank you for the opportunity to work with all of your teams, it has been amazing to get to work with such a variety of sports and such committed individuals who want their teams to strive to be the best in the conference. Lastly to all of our student-athletes, I cannot thank you all enough for allowing me to be a part of your Athletic career at FDU," said Boyland. "Each and every one of you are all amazing athletes even now so people. I will miss being with you at practices and games and in the Athletic Training Room. I'm excited for this new opportunity to move to Ramapo College and cannot wait to start helping the student-athletes there."
Prior to Seton Hall, he worked as a Student Athletic Trainer Aide at Division I Virginia Tech while completing his Bachelor's Degree in human nutrition, food and exercise. Boyland worked with several teams, including the women's lacrosse program.
