Williamsport, Pa. (April 9) – The FDU-Florham men's lacrosse team fell to Lycoming College, 12-7, on the road this afternoon in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) action.
FDU-Florham dropped to 3-7 and 1-2 in the MAC Freedom, while Lycoming improved 6-7 overall and 2-2 in league play.
Robert Nawrocki (Northfield, NJ) led FDU with three goals, while
Nicholas Perillo (Jackson, NJ) posted four assists. Defensively,
Trevor Arnone (Poughkeepsie, NY) posted seven ground balls and won 12 faceoffs. Owen Zimmerman paced Lycoming offensively with five goals on 15 shots, while four different Warriors scooped up five ground balls on the day.
FDU and Lycoming were knotted even at 4-4 late in the first quarter after Perillo found Nawrocki for the goal. In the first, Nawrocki scored twice, Arnone scored one and
Ronnie Trisuzzi (Rockaway, NJ) scored once.
From that point on, Lycoming scored eight straight goals and won the game by a 12-7 final. FDU scored three consecutive goals at the end of regulation – one by
Zane Johnston (Ridley, Pa.), one by Nawrocki and one by
Brenden Fabin (Randolph, NJ) on the man advantage.
As a team, Lycoming outshot FDU 46-39 and held a 42-33 advantage in ground balls. The Devils went 22-for-26 on the clear and won 12-of-22 faceoffs.
FDU will continue MAC Freedom play with a road match at Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, April 13 at 7:00 pm.
