Williamsport, Pa. (April 23) – The FDU-Florham men's tennis team earned a 7-2 victory at Lycoming College in MAC Freedom action this afternoon as the Devils improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in league play.
The Devils jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after winning each of the three matches in doubles play.
Joni Carasso (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and
Sergio De La Garza (Tijuana, Calif.) topped Nathan Redell and Cody Greenaway, 8-0, at No. 1, while
JT Murray (Bayville, NJ) and
Zach Puccia (Red Bank, NJ) were victorious by an 8-3 score at No. 2 and
Matt Kolongowski (Mastic, NY) and
Jaden Andresen (Branford, Conn.) won by an 8-6 final at No. 3.
FDU won four of the six singles points to secure the victory by a 7-2 final. All six matches were decided in straight sets. De La Garza won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1, Carasso won 6-0, 6-1, at No. 2, Puccia won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 and
Quinn Carmody (Hingham, Mass.) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
FDU will host King's College (Pa.) in MAC Freedom action tomorrow morning at 11:00 am for Senior Day
