Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Gallagher, Men's Lacrosse Storm Past Centenary, 23-6

Madison, NJ (March 16) – FDU-Florham men's lacrosse junior Drew Gallagher (Shamong, NJ) posted a career-high five goals and four assists this afternoon to lift the Devils to a 23-6 non-conference victory over Centenary University (NJ) on Robert T. Shields Field.

FDU-Florham (1-3) also received a career-high four goals and two assists from first-year Brenden Fabin (Randolph, NJ) as well as hat tricks from both juniors Michael Stewart (Narbeth, Pa.) and Trevor Arnone (Poughkeepsie, NY). Arnone also added ten ground balls to his stat line today. Centenary (0-1), in its 2022 season opener, saw six different student-athletes find the back of the net in today's effort.

The Devils raced out to a 9-2 lead after just 15 minutes of play and added eight more goals in the second quarter for a 17-6 advantage at the break. Gallagher had a huge first quarter for FDU with the first two goals of the game paired with a trio of assists. Nicholas Perillo's (Jackson, NJ) goal on the man advantage highlighted FDU's efforts in the second.

FDU blanked Centenary in the second half as the Devils outscored the Cyclones, 6-0, over the final 30 minutes of play. In that stretch both Ronnie Trisuzzi (Rockaway, NJ) and Adam Rogers (Staten Island, NY) potted their first collegiate goals.

As a team, FDU outshot Centenary, 50-19, and held a 49-31 advantage in ground balls. The Devils went 17-for-23 on clearing attempts, 1-for-4 on the man advantage and 24-for-32 at the face-off X. Arnone won 16 face-offs, while Brian Stewart (Narbeth, Pa.) and Carson Hopkins (Falls Church, Va.) both won three apiece.

Today's 23 goal output for the Devils were the most by the team since a 23-8 win over Susquehanna on May 1, 2004.

FDU will travel to Penn College of Technology on Saturday, March 19 for a non-conference matchup at 1:00 pm in Williamsport, Pa.
