Madison, NJ (February 9) – Arcadia University women's basketball knocked down 11 consecutive free throws in the fourth quarter to secure a 61-49 win over FDU-Florham in a Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) contest inside the Ferguson Recreation Center on Wednesday evening.

FDU (2-16, 1-12 MAC Freedom) was led by Angela Downey (Lyndhurst, NJ) and Brielle Fedo (Lake Hopatcong, NJ), who both tallied a team-high 12 points, while Cassidy Miller (Roxbury, NJ) nearly missed a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.

Arcadia (7-14, 7-7 MAC Freedom) received a game-high 17 points from Julia Makowski as well as a 13 point, ten rebound double-double by Holly Daveski. 

The half of tonight's game was tightly contested as both teams posted ten points in the opening quarter. The Devils scored the nine of the first 11 points of the second quarter for a 19-12 edge before taking a 25-20 lead at the break. Fedo accounted for seven of FDU's 15 points in the second stanza.
 
FDU registered its largest lead of the game at 11 points (31-20) following a three-point bucket from Downey just 1:14 into the third. Arcadia went on an 8-2 run over the next three minutes to cut its deficit to just five (33-28) and eventually tied the game at 36-36 and then once against at 40-40 before the buzzer sounded in the third.
 
Both teams traded baskets early in the fourth but a three-point shot by Makowski with 7:23 to play gave Arcadia a lead it would not relinquish. The Knights knocked down 11 of 12 shots from the free throw line down the stretch securing the 61-49 MAC Freedom win over the Devils.

FDU shot 27.9-percent (17-for-61) from the floor, 30.0-percent (6-for-20) from three-point range and 75.0-percent (9-for-12) from the free throw line. The Devils scored 20 points in the paint, 11 points off of Arcadia turnovers and 12 points off the bench.

Arcadia shot 32.7-percent (17-for-52) from the floor, 28.6-percent (6-for-21) from three-point range and 77.8-percent (21-for-27) from the free throw line. The Knights scored 18 points in the paint, 12 points off of FDU turnovers and ten points off the bench.

FDU will next travel to King's College (Pa.) on Saturday, February 12 at 1:00 pm for another MAC Freedom contest.
