Women's Basketball Defeated By Stevens, 70-40, on Senior Day

Madison, NJ (February 15) – In its final home game of the 2021-22 season, the FDU-Florham women's basketball team fell to Stevens Institute of Technology, 70-40. Prior to the start of tonight's game, the Devils honored seniors Helen IshmaelArian Coleman (Camden, NJ) and Brielle Fedo (Lake Hopatcong, NJ) for their contributions towards the program.
 
Fedo paced the Devils (2-18, 1-14 MAC Freedom) with 14 points, while Cassidy Miller (Roxbury, NJ)chipped in with six points and eight rebounds and Tamyah Jones (Dover, Del.) tallied six points and six boards in the effort. Stevens (17-5, 12-3 MAC Freedom) was paced by Lucy Alberici, who registered a game-high 16 points in 23 minutes off the bench, while Jess Broad pulled down a game-high ten rebounds for the Ducks.
 
After the first quarter ended with the score knotted at 12-12, the Ducks outscored the Devils by a 40-17 margin over the middle two quarters and led 53-29 through 30 minutes of action. Stevens upped its advantage to a game-high 33 points following a shot from behind the arc by Anika Damera midway through the fourth quarter as the visitors wrapped up the road win by a 70-40 final.
 
FDU shot 28.6-percent (16-for-56) from the floor, 26.1-percent (6-for-23) from three-point range and 100.0-percent (2-for-2) from the free throw line. Stevens shot 42.9-percent (27-for-63) from the floor, 35.3-percent (6-for-17) from three-point range and 76.9-percent (10-for-13) from the free throw line. Stevens scored 32 points in the paint and received 40 points off of the bench, while FDU scored 18 of its 40 points in the paint and 11 points off of Stevens turnovers.
 
The Devils will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, February 19 at Misericordia University at 1:00 pm. FDU will be the #8 seed in the upcoming MAC Freedom tournament and host Delaware Valley next Monday if the Devils defeat the Cougars. The Devils will travel to Delaware Valley for the 8/9 if they lose on Saturday at Misericordia.
