Women's Basketball Falls to Lehman, 61-31

Bronx, NY (December 14) – The FDU-Florham women's basketball team fell to Lehman College, 61-31, in non-conference action on Wednesday night to wrap up the calendar year at 0-7 overall.
 
First-year Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ) once again led the Devils in points with 18, while Whitney Shyposh (Westfield, NJ) registered a career-high 11 rebounds in the effort for FDU-Florham. Brianna Barnes guided Lehman with a 16 point, 10 rebound double-double in addition to a team-high three steals.
 
Rodriguez scored the first points of tonight's game before Lehman answered to lead by a 17-4 margin after the opening quarter. Four different Devils scored in the second including Nour Elsayyid (Dover, NJ), Rodriguez, Isabella Torrado (Teaneck, NJ) and Shyposh, but the hosts took a 34-7 lead at the break.
 
FDU-Florham put together 22 points in the second half but ended up falling to Lehman by a 61-31 final.
 
The Devils shot 20.0-percent (11-for-55) from the floor, 5.3-percent (1-for-19) from three point range and 44.4-percent (8-for-18) from the free throw line. FDU-Florham scored 12 points in the paint and seven points off the bench.
 
Lehman shot 29.1-percent (23-for-79) from the floor, 15.6-percent (5-for-32) from three point range and 55.6-percent (10-for-18) from the free throw line. Lehman scored 26 points in the paint and 19 points off the bench.
 
FDU-Florham will take a break for the holidays before returning to MAC Freedom action on January 4 at King's College (Pa.).
