Hackettstown, NJ (November 21) – The FDU-Florham women's basketball team opened its 2022-23 season tonight on the road at Centenary University (NJ) and fell by a 95-48 final score. All seven Devils made their collegiate debuts in tonight's opener, while FDU-Florham head coach Van Johnson made his debut on the bench for the Devils this evening.

Isabella Torrado (Teaneck, NJ) guided the Devils offense with 19 points, while classmate
Abigail Rodriguez (Woodbridge, NJ) tallied 12 points, a team-high six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Torrado finished the day with four makes from behind the arc.
Centenary outscored FDU-Florham 31-9 in the first quarter before the Devils found their rhythm and put up 17 points in the second as the score at the halftime break was 53-26. The Cyclones outscored the Devils 26-6 in the third and the game ended in a 95-48 final.
As a team, FDU-Florham shot 28.6-percent (20-for-70) from the floor, 29.4-percent (5-for-17) from three point range and 33.3-percent (3-for-9) from the free throw line. The Devils scored 20 points in the paint, nine points off turnovers and seven points off the bench.
As a team, Centenary shot 51.9-percent (40-for-77) from the floor, 31.3-percent (5-for-16) from behind the arc and 71.4-percent (10-for-14) from the free throw line. The Cyclones scored 46 points in the paint, 37 points off turnovers, 28 fast break points and 45 points off the bench.
FDU-Florham will play its first home game of the season on Monday, November 28 against the City College of New York (CCNY) at 6:00 pm.
